JODPHUR! The Blue City.

We weren’t here for a long time, just a good time. It has the most beautiful, immaculate fort, I have seen thus far. (as I am writing this almost one month later, you will soon know why). It is the biggest fort in Rajahstan filled with the history imbedded into the stone, dents from cannons and beautiful artistry carved into its walls.

The part I found most fascinating about this fort, as well as it being the most historic and biggest one, was that the King was killed there. assassinated by opposition during battle. Leaving his son, as in any of these situations to be King. Not so fascinating, until you walk by the very tiny white throne and wonder why it is so small. His son happened to be 4 years old when this happened. The marble white chair, still wonderfully in tact after all these years. The energy you feel when you are in these historic places are so intense, it often does not feel real. The idea that there was once so many people battling on the very same grounds you set your feet on, and the contrast of the cast system that distinguishes the different casts of people, each person had their own job determined by which cast they belonged to, which still very much lives on today in India.

The man above with Clodagh and I was the famous fortune teller in the fort, he was a very interesting man, of course we all got readings with various things to believe, or not to believe. Take what you’d like I enjoyed talking with him about the randomness of life, and well, his many wives.

The contrast continued as we walked the streets of the blue city, smells of human pee and poop, as well as the goats and cows as we searched for a place to eat. YUM! Surprising enough, we followed our hearts and found an amazing hidden gem, rooftop restaurant, up, up and away from the smellyness! The restaurant smelled amazing, and tasted even better. We had a view of the fort, the blue city and its surrounding life, in which you felt none of how dirty and smelly the city below actually was. As we were enjoying our lovely dinner (pictured above) our evening was equipped with fireworks. This only sums up how much contrast really lives on throughout many places in India. The good, the great, and the smelly.

After leaving dinner, we heard music, moving music. How could we not follow… at least I knew I had to see this, we then jumped apart of a moving disco, big speakers being carried by a truck and a slew of partygoers of all ages following behind, Saturday night ritual, I am not sure. In either case, we were in the right place at the right time. As i’ve realized, following your heart and trusting your guts usually never leads you astray.

Bollywood film in Jaipur, at a theatre said to be famous. It was magical! My favorite part was that the whole movie was in Hindi, and we could still understand what was going on. My second favorite part was that everyone would clap and cheer and the good part, which helped to know what was going on. The very best part was everyone chanting SHIVA, SHIVA, when Lord Shiva came on the movie screen.

All around a good time, great popcorn and good laughs.

babies are naturally able to swim hello they just spent nine moths in amiotic fluid this is instinctive so no, parent is not shitty, parent is re-enforcing baby’s natural instinctive behaviour.

parent is good for doing this because parent is basically saying “yes the behaviours you were born with are great!”

Also helps condition the babies so they don’t build up a fear of swimming in deep water that is prevalent in a lot of people later on.
